Members of the Newspaper Guild at the
Sacramento Bee approved a proposal to take pay cuts to save jobs at the 152-year-old newspaper in Sacramento, Calif., Friday, March 6, 2009. By a 65 to 35 percent vote, Bee guild members agreed to take pay cuts up to 6 percent to save 19 Guild-covered jobs. In addition to the pay cuts, the proposal allows the newspaper's management to require employees to take a week of unpaid leave. (AP Photo/Rich Pedroncelli).
